New Years Eve

As the year comes to a close I was thinking about past New Years Eve's, where have I spent them, who was I with and which are my favorites.

For me a New Years spent in Venice, my favorite city, and one of the primary locations in Slow Boat to Purgatory, stands out as my all time favorite. Standing outside Hotel Danieli watching the fireworks over the bay, my wife at my side, surrounded by people from all over the world. Truly epic.

What are your favorite New Years locations? Leave a comment and follow the blog and my dear friend, Author Paige Pendleton, will pick the most interesting New Years location and the winner will receive a free e-book copy of Slow Boat To Purgatory

  1. News Years Eve 1999/2000 on the Bangor waterfront, with my best friend Bob, his girlfriend Deb, a "new" girl for me [ Kerry ] and 2 bottles of champagne left by my ex girlfriend that had dumped me in September. Sure was kind of my ex to get us blitz for the dawn of the 2000s ! The evening got better afterwards with the use of an elevator but that's a story best told in private !

  2. My favorite city in Italy is Florence, but I don't know, Venice sounds wonderful for New Years. But I'd have to go with PARIS, which is my favorite city!

  3. I would say the best new years eve location would have to be drinks with family and friends, anywhere. I love the great memories that I have and I can share.

  4. My very favorite New Years Eve was also spent in Italy at a dear friends house in Montagnano. The house was full of friends and rowdy children playing. We drank mulled wine (so good) and did sparklers and crackers. Felice anno nuovo!

  5. I really enjoyed this past year (2011), it was spent with my daughter. We cuddled up on the couch and watched movies and ate popcprn. She didn't make it to the new year but she was up til about 10:30. She is 3 and that is pretty late for her. It was a nice quiet time with her.

  6. So, it looks like Paige has awarded the free e-book to Anora. Something about wine in Italy did it for her I think.

Honorable mention to Gary for the elevator thing!

Just send me an e-mail address, Anora, and I'll get your copy of Slow Boat to Purgatory off to you.
