Hi, Ruth. I actually moved the title up a bit from the first concept as it was "touching" his hat. I think if I move it up any more it's going to look off center and out of balance. Suggestions?
Looks good, Vernon. My only thing is that I'd prefer the man in the hat to be stylistically linked to Gaspar (I presume) at the top of book. Somehow, that image evokes the style of the boatman from book one, and the man in the hat looks too photo-perfect to me. It's a pretty big nitpick, b/c the cover is masterfully rendered, and the color scheme/Gaspar image on book 2 is resonating w/book one cover.
I like!

ReplyDeleteHmmm, looks like a title hat. I like the concept, but the placement of the title right on top of his head bothers me.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anne and Lorraine.

The wording placement is fine for me. I like it right where it is. He doesn't really need extreme definition of his hat.
