Bill Clinton does not think so...This is a fascinating clip that dovetails with some current reading and research I am doing as I work on Shadow of The Son, the third book in the Slow Boat to Purgatory series.
I have always wondered about UFO's, Aliens, what are they really. Not to give too much away but wouldn't it be interesting if celestial beings, perhaps the ones that populate my stories where in fact "Angels" and not all of them friendly? Of course the opposite side of that coin would be that "Angels" area actually beings from other planets and Alien lifeforms devoid of any "spirituality". They are just life forms inhabiting reality and every now and then we all just bump into each other.
Enjoy the video. It's a bit long but well worth the time.

The Turin Shroud is not a medieval forgery, as has long been claimed, but could in fact date from the time of Christ's death, a new book claims.
Many Catholics believe that the 14ft-long linen cloth was used to cover Christ's body when he was lifted down from the cross after being crucified
By Nick Squires, Rome correspondent10:24AM GMT 28 Mar
Experiments conducted by scientists at the University of Padua in northern Italy have dated the shroud to ancient times, a few centuries before and after the life of Christ.
Many Catholics believe that the 14ft-long linen cloth, which bears the imprint of the face and body of a bearded man, was used to bury Christ's body when he was lifted down from the cross after being crucified 2,000 years ago.
The analysis is published in a new book, "Il Mistero della Sindone" or The Mystery of the Shroud, by Giulio Fanti, a professor of mechanical and thermal measurement at Padua University, and Saverio Gaeta, a journalist.
The tests will revive the debate about the true origins of one of Christianity's most prized but mysterious relics and are likely to be hotly contested by sceptics.
Scientists, including Prof Fanti, used infra-red light and spectroscopy – the measurement of radiation intensity through wavelengths – to analyse fibres from the shroud, which is kept in a special climate-controlled case in Turin.
The tests dated the age of the shroud to between 300 BC and 400AD.
The experiments were carried out on fibres taken from the Shroud during a previous study, in 1988, when they were subjected to carbon-14 dating.
Those tests, conducted by laboratories in Oxford, Zurich and Arizona, appeared to back up the theory that the shroud was a clever medieval fake, suggesting that it dated from 1260 to 1390.
But those results were in turn disputed on the basis that they may have been skewed by contamination by fibres from cloth that was used to repair the relic when it was damaged by fire in the Middle Ages.
The mystery of the shroud has baffled people for centuries and has spawned not only religious devotion but also books, documentaries and conspiracy theories.
The linen cloth appears to show the imprint of a man with long hair and a beard whose body bears wounds consistent with having been crucified.
Each year it lures hundreds of thousands of faithful to Turin Cathedral, where it is kept in a specially designed, climate-controlled case.
Scientists have never been able to explain how the image of a man's body, complete with nail wounds to his wrists and feet, pinpricks from thorns around his forehead and a spear wound to his chest, could have formed on the cloth.
The Vatican has never said whether it believes the shroud to be authentic or not, although Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI once said that the enigmatic image imprinted on the cloth "reminds us always" of Christ's suffering.
His newly-elected successor, Pope Francis, will provide an introduction when images of the shroud appear on television on Saturday, the day before Easter Sunday, which commemorates the resurrection.
The Pope has recorded a voice-over introduction for the broadcast on RAI, the state television channel.
"It will be a message of intense spiritual scope, charged with positivity, which will help (people) never to lose hope," said Cesare Nosiglia, the Archbishop of Turin, who also has the title "pontifical custodian of the shroud".
"The display of the shroud on a day as special as Holy Saturday means that it represents a very important testimony to the Passion and the resurrection of the Lord," he said.
For the first time, an app has been created to enable people to explore the holy relic in detail on their smart phones and tablets.
The app, sanctioned by the Catholic Church and called "Shroud 2.0", features high definition photographs of the cloth and enables users to see details that would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye.
"For the first time in history the most detailed image of the shroud ever achieved becomes available to the whole world, thanks to a streaming system which allows a close-up view of the cloth. Each detail of the cloth can be magnified and visualised in a way which would otherwise not be possible," Haltadefinizione, the makers of the app, said.Vernon Bakerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09867393521056801190noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3786414781104505919.post-14138848160819380482013-02-16T10:29:00.001-05:002013-02-16T10:30:43.510-05:00Alex Donovan's weapons of choice.Alex Donovan was given his grandfather's 1911 Colt .45 in Venice. Pendleton and her band of misfit urchins begins. She's been spamming the world in an attempt to sink the Slow Boat to Purgatory.
I do not believe in cheap and tawdry parlor tricks. But of course that's all her characters have. Dismal baubles against my angels, demons, Gaspar de Rouse and company.
At midnight tonight the e-book versions of both Slow Boat to Purgatory and Paige's The Keeper and Rune Stone go free on Amazon. For three days you can grab Slow Boat for free. For four days you can grab The keeper and The Rune Stone. Paige needs the extra day.
Which ever book garners the most downloads wins. And the author of the victorious book must wear a pink shirt professing their love of the other's book. And they must parade around Hannaford grocery store in Belfast for thirty minutes.
I will not wear pink! Spread the word! Tell your friends! Share with free e-book sites!
I know no one here wants to see me in pink.

October 27th is the day. The Arimathean book launch party at Papa J's and the Lobster Bar.
For those of you who attended last year's launch of Slow Boat to Purgatory you know what a fun time we had. We'll again have a complimentary wine tasting featuring wines from the books. We'll also have some complimentary food pairings from a little restaurant that makes an appearance in The Arimathean(I wonder what restaurant that could be?).
I'll be singing both books and we'll be giving away some cool gifts throughout the night.
Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and we'll go until the books are gone or all the wine is drunk. Whichever comes first!

Still shooting for the first week of October(fingers crossed).

In the meantime here's a little taste...Alex remembers Sophia

And so it went for the most wonderful four weeks of his life until one day, a Friday after a particularly grueling session in the gym. As they did every day, they walked along the Charles River in the general direction of her home, rambling, trying to delay the inevitable parting.

They found an empty bench and sat, her hand finding his. His thumb caressed her fingers and in a moment that he forever after wished he could take back, he lifted her chin and turned her face to his.

His desire laid waste to his honor. His lips took hers and as he reached around her, to the small of her back, pulling her into him, her arms slid around his neck. He lost himself in the feel of her lips, her taste, and the feel of her back as his hands moved up her spine. She kissed him back, hard, searching, her fingers tangled in his hair. His hand moved along the base of her neck to the back of her head. He filled his hand with her hair and broke their kiss. Burying his face in her hair, he inhaled the scent of it, wanting this to last forever.

Taking her face in both hands, he kissed her once more, this time gently savoring it, as if he already knew what was coming. She pulled back and raised her fingers to his lips. She held them there for several seconds and a tear formed. She slowly shook her head, stood, and hurried down the path toward her home.

Alex called after her, but she broke into a slow jog, cut through the trees and climbed an over-walk above Storrow Drive. She disappeared down an alley on the other side of the street as he stood fists clinched.

The next day an envelope lay on the floor of his entryway, pushed through the mail slot. It wasn’t postmarked, only his name written on it. He recognized her writing. In a crashing moment of longing, he knew what was inside.

He didn’t open it then. He walked for an hour not really knowing where he was going, the cane in his hand heavier and his limp slowing him more. He finally ended up on the Harvard bridge over the Charles.

There he read it. When he was done, he fought off the tears. He beat them back by telling himself he had known this would come, that she would be faithful and that in the end she would reject him and what they were doing. Deep down, he knew it was a lie, but it kept the tears at bay. When he let the note go over the railing, uncrumpled, just a random note floating toward the water, his eyes were dry.

The letter landed on the swirling water as it made its way toward the bay and out to the ocean. It didn’t sink. He watched it until it was out of sight.

The anger came then. With a burst of rage, he hurled his cane into the air. It landed with a splash, the carbon fiber crutch floating away in the wake of the note.

He headed home. He never went back to the clinic. He never saw her again.
Until Venice.
